Clumsy Keyboard

I'm one of those people that like my electronics to be clean, especially my screen and keyboard. I don't like when people touch my laptop with greasy finger. I don't like when my dogs try to walk across my keyboard and their little hairs go between my keys. I end up using a lot of canned air and folded up pieces of tissue. Thankfully, Logitech has saved my life.

They created a keyboard for the accident prone and the clean freaks. In other words, they created this keyboard for someone like me.

It's a keyboard that can be completely submerged in water for a good scrubbing. It's designed for those who like to eat around their laptops. If they spill some coffee or that sticky doughnut on it, they can just dunk it in water and scrub the residue away.

I want it. I need it. If only I had the money for anything, everything on this blog.

Food Day Counter

Have you ever opened a can of salsa, ate a little and stuck it in the fridge. Did you go back to it a few weeks later and wonder when you opened it? Do you wonder if it's still good? Here is a brilliant idea. This little gadget is called the DaysAgo digital day counter. After opening a jar, you can stick it onto the topic via magnet or suction cup and let it start counting the days.

I'm sure there are many other uses for these things, especially if you are forgetful. How many days since you dyed your hair? How many days since you watered a plant? How many days since you met that cute girl at the bar and got her phone number? Is it three days yet? Well now you will know.

Money Shredding Alarm Clock

I seem to like finding alarm clocks. I think it's just cool how many different concepts they have for an alarm clock. This one for example, it shreds money. That's right, you read that right. If you are late waking up for your alarm it starts shredding whatever bill is in the clock. Time is money and you will definitely lose money if you don't get up on time.

I think it would be best to keep this alarm clock away from me. I don't wake up on time, and I don't have the money to waste to let it be shredded up all the time! Oh an another thing, this illegal to destroy money in the United States. So, I don't really recommend buying an alarm clock such as this if it could lead to a fine or imprisonment.

Another reason to love Pitt

The University of Pittsburgh has developed a robotic hand that can be used by the paralyzed. A women who  was diagnosed with spinocerebellar degeneration, a condition where the connections between the brain and muscles deteriorate, in 1998 applied to be considered for a trail though Pitt/UPMC BCI research study. She was cleared for the trail and Pitt inserted electrodes in her brains surface. She can now move a robotic arm with her mind. How cool is that?

Blue Little Nightmares

When I was a kid, there were this ugly little furry things that were very popular one Christmas. If I remember correctly, they weren't popular for very long. When they first came out, we all thought they were so adorable. Then we bought one. They were a nightmare. Not only were they super scary, but they didn't shut off easily or break. I distinctly remember trying to turn my Furby off but it kept crying. Then I threw it against the wall because to be honest, I was hoping it would die. It was quiet long enough for me to take a breath and relax before it started telling me it was hungry again. They were called Furby's. They scared the crap out of me when I was little. Today, I was watching a show and a commercial came on. Guess what? They're back...

This is the new Furby...

Not only is the new Furby a very bright blue, but it's eyes glow. How creepy is that? The Furby can interact with an iPhone or iPad, so that the owner can feed the creature or translate it's language. These Furby's also have personalities that you can unlock. These little creatures have no off button, and unlike the old version, if you take out the batteries, the Furby doesn't reset. The only way to turn it off is to put it asleep by sticking it in a dark place. From personal experience, the darkest part of space is not dark enough for these little guys.

Apparently, if you get a group of Furby's together they can even interact with each other. Um, no thanks. We don't need Furby's getting together and taking over the world.

These little blue Furby's have already hit the shelves and they cost about $60. Do your kid, niece, nephew, or grandchild a favor and walk past them. First off, they aren't worth that kind of money. Second off, if kids today are anything like my generation, they won't like them either. I'm all for bringing back old toys and making them cool again, but from now on can we steer clear of Furby's? The little guys are just a little too creepy for me.
